On November 3rd, 2018, while advising Afghan forces in Kabul, Mayor of North Ogden Brent Taylor was killed during an apparent insider attack.

Ernest lived to the age of 111 and passed away in 2006. He was one of the United States’ longest living Veterans of World War I.

Ferdinand Funke was assigned to 614th Tactical Fighter Squadron at Phan Rang Air Base in Vietnam. He flew 222 combat missions against the North Vietnamese.

Today’s #VeteranOfTheDay is Army Veteran Elise Hackstall. Elise served actively from 2004 to 2008 and as part of the reserves until March 2018.

In 1958, Douglass Smith was sent to McCoy Air Force Base, Fla. He then reported to Santiago, Chile as part of a military group from 1963 until 1966.

In August of 1960, Thomas Connors was part of the crew of the USS Seadragon when it became the first submarine to complete the Northwest Passage.

Eugene DeFelice served in the Southern Pacific during World War II from April 1942 to July 1943. He saw action at Guadalcanal where he was injured.
